One-day-Workshop on
*General Purpose High Resolution Radiation Hard Electromagnetic
Calorimeter at JLab,
*October 31, 2008, Jefferson Lab.
Dear Colleague,
We would like to invite you to attend a workshop on */General Purpose
High Resolution Radiation Hard Electromagnetic Calorimeter at JLab/* to
be held on October 31, 2008, at Jefferson Lab room F224/225.
This one-day workshop is aimed at fostering the exchange of ideas
between different user groups at JLab to develop and construct a large
acceptance, high resolution and radiation hard electromagnetic
calorimeter with a flexible geometry to be used in upcoming 12 GeV
leading experiments.
The main objectives of the workshop are:
1) Identify key experimental groups who are interested in the "General
Purpose Calorimeter".
2) Experimental requirements from the different physics projects:
a) Minimum size of the Calorimeter;
b) Radiation hardness and rate stability requirements;
c) Energy and position resolution requirements;
d) Calorimeter configuration, readout, trigger, timing ...
3) Conceptual design of the calorimeter.
4) Estimated cost and funding resources, and project time table.
If you are interested in attending the workshop and would like to make a
presentation, please send an e-mail to: gasparan@jlab.org
The tentative agenda of the workshop is attached below.
Best regards,
Ashot Gasparian
for the Organizing Committee
