RCS Meeting May 17th 2001
Present: Albert, Alex, Bogdan, Edik, Eugine, Mike, Tavi.
New fellow physicist from Novosibirsk, Budker Institute Dimitri Nikilenko
Edik progress report:
=========================
finished with the labeling and fixed the confusion made before.
also fixed 3 modules of the veto and some broken fibers
plans :
before he leaves on the 26th, he should have completed the first veto
detector
Dimitri will take care of the second one
Both detector will be ready they will be mounted for check of the
access to to detector on final position
Phototubes issue, comment from Mike :
5 to 10 available in the test lab coupled to lucite bars.
Tests of output signals, veto fine tuning :
there is some oscillation noise of amplitude of 1 mV, but since the
output signal expected is of about 5 to 10 mV this should
not be a problem.
Veto fine tuning and installation will be done in 2-3 weeks
Mike :
=============
learning C and C++ for DAQ
Geant waiting for David answer to the files sent to him.
Alex :
=============
working in progress for a spy program and an online display
Albert :
=============
-start of the construction of the enclosure behind the calorimeter
which allock to apply HV
-scaffold around the calorimeter provide safe access from front and side
-prototype of cable tray to hold 1000 cables : almost finished
the tray will be able to carry 50 % more cable than needed now
-received from machine shop components to arrange the laser box
Eugine:
============
gain monitoring, installtion of the laser, shielding and holding
It will be in an aluminium box under the calorimeter.
The thickness of the lead wall shielding has to be decided
Bogdan:
============
Space in Test Lab:
discussion of it will be again at the end May, need for space in a
few weeks for the cables
Design of MWPC:
general assembly was completed, detailed drawing in 7-10 days.
Triangle supports for veto detectors were ordered.
PMT for veto: 40 new tubes have been ordered, cost is $255 each.
Octavian:
============
first time the presentation on physics of electron scattering.
next time Mike will present Compton scattering.
