Find the web page for this week's meeting at
http://www.jlab.org/primex/weekly_meetings/weekly_2005_03_25.html
Present: Dustin, Mark, Marvin, Ilia, Yelena, Eugene, and Rory on the
phone.
Agenda:
1. Appointment of secretary: all
2. Review of last week's minutes: all
3. Photon Flux Calculation: Aram
General description of the approach taken to calculate our flux.
4. dN/dtheta distributions from Compton: Yelena
5. PRIMEX offline updates: Ilia
6. Empty Target Run Status: Ilia
7. Other new business: all
8. Practice talk: Dustin
1. Appoint Eugene as a secretary.
2. Review last week minutes. Scaler event issue remains to be
investigated.
3. Aram is not present, skip this item.
4. Yelena presented analysis of Compton scattering on carbon target.
See: http://www.jlab.org/~yprok/primex/distr.html
She compared XY and angular distribution from GEANT with real data. In
general, they agree reasonablyu well even with crude absolute
normalization. XY distribution for electrons (with veto) shows vertical
strips at the edges of paddles. Looks like inefficiency. Angular
distribution of photons (no veto) shows some structure at angles 0.8-1.0
degrees. Needs to be investigated.
5,6 Ilia is preparing an analysis note which should be ready in a few
days. He presented some excerpts from the note. See:
http://www.jlab.org/~ilarin/03252005.meet/
Geometrical adjustment is made based on the Compton data. It suggests
that the distance between the target and the HYCAL is 8 cm longer then
we thought. Comparison of the cluster energy with tagger energy shows
nonlinearity of up to 1%. It is different for different detectors. Ilia
found a function that corrects for this nonlinearity. Tagger energy
correction is not implemented yet.
7. There is now new business.
8. Dustin gave a practice talk for the workshop in Osaka. See:
http://www.jlab.org/~mcnulty/JapanWorkshop_Apr05.pdf. The audience
gave Dustin some suggestions.
