meeting minutes for Friday, May 20th, 2005

Hi All,
here are the meeting minutes for the last group meeting.
please let me know if I have left out anything.
Aram.
Attending: E. Clinton, R. Demirchyan, M. Ito, D. McNulty, E. Pasyuk, M. Payen, A. Teymurazyan, M. Wood, D. Dale,
	   A. Gasparian, L. Gan.

By phone: A. Bernstein, D. Sober

1. A. Teymurazyan was nominated as the secretary.
Raphael has been persuaded to volunteer to be the next meeting's secretary.

2. Review of last meeting's minutes: Aram noted his method for correcting live1/live2
assumes that the values of live1/live2 are correct only for previous event.
(look point 2. in last weeks minutes.)

3. Eric has been looking into tagger reconstruction issues and has noticed that the ET and EE windows are inadequate
(see http://www.jlab.org/~eclinton/20May2005/index.html).

4. Normalization status: Aram showed some histograms of "dead time per event" for TAC,
LMS and PRODUCTION runs. Plots indicate that constant dead time per event (~ 25 microseconds)
is a really good model. (see http://www.jlab.org/primex/weekly_meetings/slides_2005_05_20/dead_time_per_event.gif)

5. Dustin presented his new package for HyCal timing reconstruction. The package asigns cluster times for each event,
finds clusters that are coincident in time, finds the photon that is in coincidence with the cluster pair. The package
fills out the respective banks htrigtcluster_assoc, clust_clust_tlinks, clust_tagm_tlinks. Currently to find the timing
of the cluster the cell with most deposited energy is used, it has been suggested to use the cell with highest ADC value
instead.
A new calibration database named "hycal_timing" has been introduced. The attributes of the database are:
square_id (trigger square id), htrig_id and offset (used to tune the timing of different squares to zero).
(for details please see http://www.jlab.org/primex/weekly_meetings/slides_2005_05_20/dustin/hycal_timing.ps)

6. Marvin presented his abstract for the upcoming DNP meeting, some minor changes have been suggested (576 lead glass
detectors, change the phrase "experiment proposes" and etc.)
Dan Dale suggested that Aram also submits an abstract which will be oriented towards general luminosity issues
for PrimEx. It has been decided to submit an abstract for review by collaboration by Monday.

7. The last point on the agenda was the "review of tasks". Was decided to leave it for next meeting. People responsible
for different areas should be ready to point out the major problems.
