PrimEx Weekly Meeting Minutes 8/12/05

Here are the minutes from Friday's Meeting.

L. Benton, M. Ito, D. McNulty, E. Clinton, Y. Prok, A. Teymurazyan and
D. Dale (via phone) all attended Friday's meeting.

1. Secretary: L. Benton
                 V. Mochalov will be next weeks secretary.

2. The PrimEx meeting for the previous week was canceled, but we did
approve the minutes from the Collaboration Meeting.

3. I showed the information and data I had about the LMS and proposed a
scheme to study the bi/tri-modal effect shown in the LMS data. For some
counters, the readout of the LMS data is skewed showing 2-3 lines of data,
instead one single line. Dustin brought this to our attention during his
talk at the collaboration meeting, the effects can be seen in his slides.
Dr. Danagoulian seems to think that the reason for the readout of this
data has to do with the position of the filter wheel during LMS data
taking during the run. Our proposed scheme for studying this problem was
accepted and approved at the meeting.

4. Kevin was not present to give report.

5. The Mochalov Report (by Mark I.):

   - Reviewed 8/11/05 software meeting

   - pflux Modifications: Aram still working on these modifications. He is
still coding and proposed to exclude beam trips and other analmolies
from code to reduce problems and errors. This was approved.

   - Miscabling is still an issue in coding. Aram advised that the
translation table in DB was corrected to correct the problem of
miscabling, but the issue of miscabling is still present.

6. D. McNulty showed comparisons of his and Ilya's Invariant Mass plots.
Dustin's plots and data seems to be different from Ilya's by 1 Mev more.
   Y. Prok proposed that the difference in the plots might have something to
do with the center of gravity corrections. Dustin's data doesn't have
these corrections included in the plots. There is a question of the
proper distance to use in the calculation of the Invariant Mass. Dustin
is suppose to redefine his data, fix his fits to include more data from
the edges, instead of excluding some data points at the edges of his
plots. To improve the resolution of the Invariant Mass, D. Dale suggested
to make a cut on the peak of the plot with tagger constraint, and go and
plot it again w/o tagger constraint. Dustin is still trying to
understand Ilya's plots and analysis. There were some odd variations in
   Ilya's Lead plots.

7. Upcoming PAC and Science and Technology Review:

   - M. Ito talked about the upcoming reviews and about showing PrimEx data
at these reviews. There was a little concern about showing Dustin's
current Invariant Mass plots at these reviews, where as they may raise
some questions and/or debates. Dustin proposed to show energy
resolution from snake scan data, to show at reviews. Collaboration
must decide exactly what data do we want to present at these
     reviews!!!!

8. Y. Prok revisted her Collaboration talk and plots about HyCal-veto
   matching Y analysis.

9. D. Dale talked about his plots from the Colaboration meeting and proposed
to improve them to show at review meetings.
