The minutes from Friday, September 9, 2005 PrimEx Weekly Meeting.
Present: D. McNulty, M. Ito, A. Teymurazyan, M. Wood, E. Clinton, V.
Mochalov,
K. Hardy.
On Phone: D. Dale.
Secretary: K. Hardy
Agenda:
1. Appointment of secretary: all
2. Review of last meeting's minutes: all
3. TAC analysis: Aram Teymurazyan
4. Cornell parametrization of pi0 yield: Dustin McNulty
5. Using veto with pi0 analysis: Mike Wood
6. primsim progress: Mike Wood
7. Other new business: all
Meeting Protocol:
1) K. Hardy was volunteered by group to be secretary.
2) Last week's meetings were approved by group.
3) Aram showed three plots: R_abs_multi-R_abs_single.gif showing no
difference in TAC anaysis in case of considering single electron events or
multiple electron events in tagger; rate_studies.gif showing that tagging
ratios are independent of beam current for the case when we did not have
contamination from the other halls, and reproducibility_studies.gif
showing
the reproducibility of the tagging ratios. The plots can be found at:
http://www.jlab.org/primex/weekly_meetings/slides_2005_09_09/tac/
4) Dustin talked about effects of new algorithm for finding matches
between photons in Hycal and electrons in tagger. New algorithm seems to
reduce the number of ambiguous matches. As a result of new algorithm about
30% less pi0's were found. Link located here:

5)Mike talked about what effect VETO cut has on pi0 yields. Link located at:
http://www.jlab.org/primex/weekly_meetings/slides_2005_09_09/mhw_09sep2005/veto_pi0.html
6) Mike presented his improvements to geometry to PrimEx GEANT simulation.
He fixed position of VETO, put in more realistic helium bag(still needs
improvement), put in vacuum box in pair spectrometer magnet, put in more
realistic target ladder. Link located at:

7) Vasiliy presented for discussion pictures to be shown at SCINT 2005
conference. Everyone agreed to show pi0 mass distribution plot without
tagger constraint

There were no objections to showing the other three plots, which can be
found at:

8) Whose attending the upcoming DNP meeting was discussed. Aram agreed to
do a practice talk some time next week for his presentation in Hawaii.
Question of does Marvin's talk need to be withdrawn was brought up and
left opened.
