PrimEx Software Meeting Minutes

(1) Present:
Abdellah Ahmidouch, Eric Clinton, Raphael Demirchyan, Mark Ito, David Lawrence,
Dustin McNulty, Vasily Mochalov, Itaru Nakagawa, Aram Teymurazyan, Ashot Gasparian, Yar Underwood,
Paul Kingsberry, Liping Gan

(3) Vasily suggested to move HYCAL part of translation table from codaIO to HYCAL analysis package.
Subgroup meeting (David, Vasily and Dustin) is needed to decide on this issue.
(4) Dustin pointed out there was some problems with online software make file. Mark will check on it.
(5) Aram will coordinate to produce a list for online histograms. Each subgroup should submit a histogram list
to Aram and post it on PrimEx website by this Friday (June 11), and give report at Friday PrimEx group meeting for
discussion. The final list should be ready by June 21.
(6) There might be a time window from July 3 to July 8 for the third online software dry run. Itaru will announce
the exact date as soon as it becomes available.
(7) Abdellah will build a ET-system to send EPICS variables to main data stream. Each subgroup should submit
a EPICS list to Abdellah and post it on PrimEx website by this Friday (June 11), and report at Friday PrimEx group
meeting for discussion. The final list should be ready by June 21.
(8) Abdellah will be responsible for adding all EPICS variables to a MYSQL database for display. It should also be
done by June 21.
(9) Itaru will be responsible for online programs control- central program to control running status of online
softwares. Dead line is June 21.
(10) Aram will build a PrimEx Alarm message GUI. Each subgroup should submit a list which contains the name and
definition of alarms for their system to Aram and post it on PrimEx web site by this Friday (June 11),
and give report at Friday PrimEx group meeting for discussion.
(11) Datafile uploader: David will take care of upload datafile to Cylo. It should be ready before the software dry run.
(12) Translation table utility: Mark will be responsible to create a program to update the translation table.
It should be ready by June 21.
(13) HYCAL pedestal checker: a program to check the hycal pedestals. Vasily, Dustin and Paphael and group should
discuss and come with solution
(14) Phase trigger: David agreed to take care of it.
(15) Mark will add three items on PrimEx web site under subsystems: online histogram list, alarm list and EPICS variables
list. Each group should post their information on the web by end of this week.
(16) Paphael showed his Monte Carlo simulation on the pedestal sparsification threshold effects on the number of
hits in the cluster and the energy resolution. Further calculation should be done by looking at 6X6 beam test data.
New results are expected at the next meeting.
(17) Vasily suggested to have a single program to upload the information to the online histograms in order to
save CPU time. David and Vasily should look into it and report the result at the next meeting.
