Minutes of Software Meeting- August 17, 2004

o Some discussion of new meeting room. The issue will be resolved later.
o Mike Wood:
Added more cool stuff to event viewer. Showed the gui.
-Pair spectrometer -- magnet info, detector info, hit info
-tagger --magnet, detector, hit info
-veto
-HYCAL info
o Mark Ito:
Brought up the subject of data summary tapes-- what should be the
design? raw data -> CODA format?
The general consensus was that we should start working on this now and
that it should be Root tree format and have a standardized, compact
design.
Mike Wood will spearhead this with the help of Dustin and Vasily. They
will report next meeting
o General discussion of online physics analysis and what the framework
will be
Presumably a separate program running off the ET ring
Dave L. brings up flux monitoring concerns (pfluxmon). Dan will discuss
this with Itaru and Aram. Yelena will also get involved in this.
o Dan brings up the proposition of adding a halo monitor downstream of the
photon beam collimator. Probably have a strip chart recorder for
relative measurements and look for changes in halo over time.
o Aram asked if anyone has looked at alarm gui. Dave: ``Problem compiling
on clon cluster.''
o Software dry run
Performed before our very eyes with Test Lab data.
Bad news: no histograms were full
Good news: no crashes
