I forgot to mention some things about this release.
This release does not build on the CUE Sun machines. In particular, the
makefiles don't build binaries with the version of the C++
compiler/linker (v5.5). The problem is the lack of an explicit object
file as an argument; instead we have depending on getting the main
program from an object archive. This will have to be addressed in a
future release. The binary-building problem is not an issue on the clon
cluster (different C++ compiler/linker).

Another point is that there were two programs in the standard build that
I had to drop because they would not build on Linux. These were
hist_viewer and monitor/hycal_calib.
