"2007 JLab Users Group Meeting"
June 18-20, 2007
Jefferson Lab, Newport News, VA

Circular

The 2007 JLab Users Group Annual Meeting will take place on Monday June 18th through Wednesday June 20th. Please reserve these dates and plan to attend.

To make it easy for you to attend, we have scheduled the Users Group Meeting immediately after the Hall B Collaboration Meeting, and immediately before the Hall A Collaboration Meeting. The program includes presentations from the Users Group Board, lab management, and funding agencies, along with talks on outreach, the new Nuclear Physics Long Range Plan, and physics of direct interest to our research programs at the laboratory. Your participation is important, and we strongly encourage everyone to register now, and make your plans to attend!

We particularly encourage graduate students to attend the annual meeting. The thesis prize winner will be present to talk about the award-winning research. This year we will be continuing our new tradition of having a poster competition with a first prize of $1000, a 2nd prize of $500, and a third prize of $250. Thanks to the Jefferson Science Associates Initiatives Fund, the registration fees for all graduate students for the Annual Meeting will be waived. The deadline for abstracts is Friday, June 8th. More information on the poster competition can be found through the link given above.

Our community continues to face substantive issues this year, which will be discussed at the meeting. The issues include the recent NSAC long range plan, the transition to 12 GeV, the new JSA management contract and management changes at the laboratory, and continuing funding issues. The Annual Users Group Meeting plays a central role in maintaining the coherence and effectiveness of our community. Your Users Group Board has worked hard to put together a great meeting, and we very much hope to see you there!
