The 2009 JLab Users Group Annual Meeting will take place on Monday June 8th through Wednesday June 10th. The program includes a variety of physics talks, presentations from the Users Group Board, lab management, and funding agencies, talks from our recent Prize Winners. Your participation is important, and we strongly encourage everyone to register now, and make plans to attend.
We particularly encourage graduate students to attend the annual meeting. The Jefferson Science Associates Initiatives Fund has again sponsored our waiving student registration fees. We will again have special lunch discussions for the graduate students, along with sandwiches, pizza, and sushi. The poster competition continues, with a first prize of $1000, a 2nd prize of $500, and a third prize of $250. The deadline for poster competition abstracts is Friday, May 29th - and you cannot win if you do not enter. For more information, contact Katherine Myers.
This year has been the best for scientific research funding in recent memory. Come find out more about the plans of DOE, NSF, and the laboratory. The discussion will include both near- and long-term plans, and a variety of issue. The Annual Users Group Meeting plays a central role in maintaining the coherence and effectiveness of our community. Your Users Group Board has worked hard to put together a great meeting, and we very much hope to see you there!
