Identification/Access Badge

The JLab Registration/International Services Office, VARC, Building 28, issues a JLab identification/access badge to any User, Student, Visitor, or Employee completing the registration/orientation process (see registration and processing), and successfully completing the required EH&S training. Access levels on-site are granted through the completion of required training courses for each area (see training).

The JLab identification/access badge must be worn at all times while on-site. Anyone on-site in possession of another person's identification/access badge are at risk of loosing on-site access privileges for themselves and the valid identification/access badge holder.

A one-day temporary badge can be issued to any valid JLab identification/access badge holder on-site without a badge. Report all lost badges and direct all questions to the JLab Registration/International Services Office at (757) 269-7687.

*International Visitor Registration*
The U.S. Department of Energy requires all non-U.S. citizens to provide passport, visa, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services information before entry to Jefferson Lab. In addition, DOE headquarters approval is required before entry of persons whose country of origin is Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan or Syria. All non-U.S. citizens must bring and present government-issued picture identification, i.e. passport or green card, and current USCIS documents for review. Entry to Jefferson Lab may be denied if identification and current immigration status cannot be verified. JLab Registration/International Services is located at VARC, Building 28, on the Jefferson Lab campus.
