The first series of experiments using a tagged photon beam with the
CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer (CLAS) in Hall B
at Jefferson Lab,
referred to as the g1 experiment group,
have been performed.
Tagged photons with energies from 0.37 to 2.41 GeV were incident on
a liquid hydrogen target within CLAS. An overview of
the operating characteristics and
performance of CLAS and the Hall B photon tagger
for this series of experiments will be presented.
