Virginia Physics Consortium (VPC)

Graduate Student Opportunities

The VPC has agreed that graduate students registered at one of the VPC institutions may (via a cross-listing agreement) register for select upper level physics graduate courses (for credit) at any of the other VPC institutions at no charge, space permitting. This has the advantage of expanding the range of advanced specialty courses available to graduate students studying in the Commonwealth with no additional cost to the student or to the state. In addition, it may occasionally be possible to arrange for informal auditing of graduate courses being offered at a VPC institution when space is available and the instructor grants permission.

Students interested in applying for admission at one VPC institution are thus afforded the additional opportunities that the consortial agreement permits. This effectively extends the range of possible advanced graduate courses that may graduate student can readily obtain during her or his pursuit of an advanced degree in Physics.
