Small Animal Imaging: Oak Ridge National Lab Collaboration

A small field of view (50 mm diameter) Jefferson Lab gamma camera is being used by the Dr. Mike Paulus in the MicroCT system at ORNL to investigate the development of a dual modality Computer Tomograph/SPECT mouse imaging system.

Female mouse injected with 10uCi of I-125 labeled monoclonal antibody targeting the lungs. Approximately 3 uCi expected to remain in the lungs. Acquisition time was 60 minutes with approximatly 8600 counts collected. The left image is a planar digital x-ray of the mouse, the middle shows the co-regitration of the x-ray and gamma-ray (I-125) image and the right image shoes a CT slice through the mouse in the regin of the lungs.
