Associate Director, Environment, Safety, Health & Quality

As the Associate Director, Environment, Safety, Health & Quality, Mary Logue is responsible for the management and direction of Jefferson Lab's environment, safety, health and quality programs. She also represents the lab on ESH&Q issues with the Department of Energy, government and non-government agencies and other national laboratories.

Prior to joining Jefferson Lab in 2008, Logue was an associate section head for environment, safety and health at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory for more than 10 years. In that position, she led implementation efforts related to environmental permitting, environmental monitoring, waste management, safety engineering, ES&QH training, industrial hygiene, fire protection, construction safety and emergency preparedness. She also led Fermilab in a successful effort to decrease workplace injuries, developed a hazard analysis program, and successfully sought ISO registration for Fermilab's environmental and health and safety programs.

Logue started her career in 1983 as a health physicist at the DOE's New Brunswick Laboratory. She then relocated to the DOE's Chicago office, where from 1986-1991 she held a variety of positions, including health physicist and senior program manager with oversight for ES&QH, construction and nuclear programs at Argonne National Laboratory. From 1992-1997, Mary was a section head for safety engineering at Argonne.

Logue has a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Notre Dame and a master's degree in health physics from Northwestern University.
