As the 12GeV Upgrade Federal Project Director, Mr. Epps has the following responsibilities:
- Accountable to the Acquisition Executive and Program Secretarial Officer for project performance
- Ensures that project design, construction, environmental, sustainability, safety, security, health and quality efforts performed, comply with the contract, public law, regulations and executive orders
- Manage project resources; establishing and implementing management systems, including performance measurement systems; and approving and implementing changes to project baselines
- Facilitate Critical Decision Approval Process
- Facilitate Independent Project Reviews by SC Office of Project Assessment
- Provide Operational Awareness Oversight for the 12 GeV CEBAF Upgrade Project
- Provide analysis of the Accelerator Improvement Plan and Accelerator Long-range Development Plan
- Laboratory Directed Research and Development Program Lead
Mr. Epps has more than 13 years of Accelerator experience with Jefferson Lab and the Accelerator Operations Group, where he served as an Operator, Crew Chief and Deputy Group Leader. Mr. Epps has been with the DOE Site Office for 4 years as Accelertor Ops & Proj Program Manager, 12GeV Upgrade Deputy PD, and Safeguards and Security Manager. Mr. Epps has a BS in Physics from Norfolk State University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Medical Physics from Hampton University.
