As the 12 GeV Upgrade Federal Project Director, Mr. May has the following responsibilities:
- Provides effective leadership to the 12 GeV Integrated Project Team;
- Ensures timely completion and quality of required project documentation and other deliverables;
- Provides overall project management oversight, assesses contractor project performance versus plan and requirements, and reports project performance to DOE management;
- Approves or reviews and recommends approval of baseline changes in accordance with the approved baseline change control process;
- Serves as the 12 GeV Upgrade Project Contract Technical Monitor;
- Principle interface with the Office of Nuclear Physics 12 GeV Upgrade Program Manager;
- Ensures timely and quality reporting of project data in the DOE Project Assessment and Reporting System (PARS);
- Monitors 12 GeV Upgrade Projects risk management program; and Ensures the Project complies with applicable Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) requirements.
Experience:
Mr. May has more than 20 years of nuclear operations and project management experience, including:
- 11 years with the Department of Energy, Ohio Field Office at the West Valley Demonstration Project.
- 2 years with the Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office in the Office of Environmental Restoration and Waste Management.
- 5 years with UNC Naval Products manufacturing U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Systems.
