Detector Support Group Staff Bios


George Jacobs

George Jacobs joined Jefferson Lab as an associate coordinator. He built the CLAS R2 drift chambers at Old Dominion University and was responsible for their installation and maintenance. For CLAS12, George is responsible for the building of the drift chambers and detector utilities for all Hall B tracking systems. He built his first detector as a member of the CE03 experiment performed at IUCF (Indiana University Cyclotron Facility).

Before coming to Jefferson Lab, George served in the US Navy, in the Engineering Division on nuclear submarines.

He received his B.S. in Physics from the University of Pittsburgh.
