Speaker: Daniel Gruenewald (University of Heidelberg, Germany) Title: Near Light Cone QCD on the Lattice Abstract: Many interesting observables in high-energy scattering are related to Wilson loop correlation functions close to the light cone. Therefore, we propose to formulate lattice QCD in terms of near light cone coordinates. We derive an effective ground state projection operator suitable for a Quantum-Diffusion Monte-Carlo. It has to be supplemented by a guidance wave functional approximating the true ground state. We find analytical solutions for the ground state wave functional in the strong and weak coupling limit which motivate a multi-parameter guidance wave functional Ansatz capable of covering the whole coupling range. We optimize this Ansatz variationally and elaborate on a renormalization prescription.
