Speaker: Chueng-Ryong Ji ( North Carolina State University) Title: Going beyond the Peaking Approximation in Double Charm Production Abstract: The large discrepancy between the theoretical predictions based on the nonrelativistic QCD(NRQCD) and the experimental results for the double charm production has triggered the need of better understanding both in the available calculational tools and the appreciable relativistic effects. We propose to analyze the double charm production using the nonfactorized perturbative QCD and the light-front quark model(LFQM) that goes beyond the peaking approximation. For the exclusive charmonium $J/\psi+\eta_c$ pair production in $e^+e^-$ annihilation, we effectively included all orders of higher twist terms in the leading order of QCD coupling constant and found an enhancement from the NRQCD result by a factor of $3\sim4$ at $\sqrt{s}=10.6$ GeV. We also discuss the calculation of other physical observables such as the quark distribution amplitudes, the Gegenbauer moments, and the decay constants for $J/\psi$ and $\eta_c$ mesons using our LFQM.
