Speaker: Feng Yuan (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory ) Title: Toward the QCD Theory for Single Transverse Spin Asymmetry Abstract: Single transverse spin asymmetry is a novel hadronic phenomena, and is defined as the spin asymmetry when we flip the transverse spin of one of the hadrons involved in the process. There has been great progress in recent years from both experiment and theory sides, in exploring the underlying physics for this phenomena. In this talk, I will review recent theoretical developments, focusing on the associated QCD dynamics, such as the QCD factorization in terms of transverse momentum dependent parton distributions and fragmentations, the universality for these functions, and our recent results on the next-to-leading order perturbative QCD corrections.
