ESnet Backbone Sites

ESnet provides broad interconnectivity to the global research and education community, allowing a researcher at Late-1997 an ESnet site to collaborate effectively with colleages around the world. This interconnectivity is provided by direct connection of major "backbone" sites to ESnet and by indirect connections though other research, education, and/or commercial networks. The figure below shows the immediate (or directly interconnected) internet protocol (IP) networking neighbors of ESnet.
