Management
	Engineered and operated by the ESnet networking staff led by Jim Leighton, ESnet is located in the Computing Sciences Directorate at the Ernest Orlando Lawerence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California. ESnet activity is guided by the ESnet Steering Committee (ESSC), which is comprised of members appointed by the represented programs. The ESnet Coordinating Committee (ESCC) coordinates both the participation of, and information dissemination to, the individual institutions which benefit from the use of the ESnet. In terms of the number of participating sites, ESnet represents one of the largest and most successful collaborations in the DOE. This membership includes one or more representatives from each of the five Office of Energy Research (OER) programs and additional representation from DOE defense programs and its department of Human Resources and Administration. Sponsorship of ESnet is provided by the Mathematical, Information & Computational Sciences (MICS) Division of the Office of Computational & Technology Research under the direction of DOE's Office of Energy Research. This office is responsible for managing the funding of ESnet and overseeing its management.
