Building 19: Pre-Fire Plan

    Response Action:
    1. Make initial assessment of the situation.
    2. If warranted call 9-911 and report fire.
    3. Evacuate occupants.
    4. Report to assembly point

    Access:
    There is a door at the north end and a roll up door at the south end. The roll up door has a walk-through door integral to it.

    Exposure:
    There is moderate exposure to Trailer City, building 16.

    Cautions:
    No flammable nor hazardous chemicals are stored inside this building.

    Occupancy:
    Four rooms for maintenance personnel and a shop area; about 12 people work in the Forestry Building.

    Construction:
    The Forestry Building is a pre-fabricated metal building resting on a concrete pad. there is one exhaust fan in the machine shop.

    Fire Protection:
    There are four wall-mounted fire extinguishers. The nearest fire hydrant is located about 300 feet to the north at the corner of Rutherford and Hofstadter. Forestry is equipped with one smoke detector in the office area and two smoke detectors in the maintenance shop. Smoke detectors activate the fire alarm system. The fire alarm system is tied into the Support Service Center (Building 28) system.

    Loss Potential:
    Loss of the building would have serious impact on the laboratory in that maintenance equipment and stock could be lost.
