Thin Films Applied to Superconducting RF Workshop

July 17-18, 2005
Jefferson Lab, Newport News

The first Workshop on Thin Films Applied to Superconducting RF, will be held July 17-18, 2005, at Jefferson Lab in Newport News, Virginia, USA.

The workshop's main objective is to strengthen and enlarge a network of relationships with groups and institutions interested in the application of thin films in the RF superconducting field.

Thin films technology for RF superconducting applications has proved over the years to be a viable alternative to bulk niobium. The most developed and used technique is magnetron sputtering. Currently, other promising deposition techniques are being investigated in different institutes around the world. Report on their work from each participating group and extensive discussions on existing problems, new ideas and program for the future will constitute the main part of the program.
