International RCNP Workshop
Color Confinement and Hadrons
--- CONFINEMENT95 ---
March 22-24, 1995
RCNP Osaka, Japan
We would like to organize an International RCNP Workshop on Color
Confinement and Hadrons (CONFINEMENT95) at RCNP in Osaka University on
March 22-24, 1995.
There have been a lot of studies on the properties of hadrons and
their interactions using effective theories of QCD and the lattice QCD
simulations. We have obtained quite a good view on the hadron physics
from these works. It is, however, still not satisfactory for its full
understanding. This is due to the lack of our knowledge on the mechanism
of the color confinement. The knowledge of the color confinement is
essential to describe the structures of the nucleons and mesons and their
interactions, which will in turn provide the fundamentals of Nuclear
Physics.
The purpose of this workshop is, therefore, to discuss the various
pictures of the color confinement and its consequences on the properties
of hadrons. We will include the discussions on the roles of instantons
to hadron physics, and the ideas of critical experiments with the use of
medium to high energy particle beams to identify the mechanism of
the color confinement.
We expect the size of the workshop about 70 physicists, mainly
theoreticians. Proceedings of the workshop will be published.
As for information, there will be Japan-Germany Seminar about
"QCD on Massively Parallel Computers" just before this meeting,
March 16-18, 1995 in Yamagata (200 km north of Tokyo). For more detail,
ask Prof. A. Nakamura.
