New Neutralization System Coming to Jefferson Lab

A new elementary neutralization system is being procured by the Accelerator Division to handle various chemical waste streams. Phil Mutton, Test Lab Facilities Manager, is coordinating this effort, with assistance from the Accelerator Division EH&S Department staff. The new system will replace the system located in Building 31. The new system will not only neutralize the acidic waste rinse water from cavity polishing activities, but will also neutralize concentrated waste acid that has reached the end of its useful working life and will precipitate out metals from the waste stream. More information will be provided on this in the future.
