New Laser Sees the Light
Researchers at DOE's Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, Newport News, VA (757 269 7689), have developed a free electron laser that delivers more than 150 W of infrared light - 15 times the power of existing free electron lasers. The efficient laser could produce light at a cost useful for industrial processing.
