Keppel Honored with High Tech Leadership Award

Jefferson Lab Staff Scientist and Hampton University Professor Cynthia Keppel was honored with the High Tech Leadership Award by the Hampton Roads Technology Council and sponsored by Cox Business Services. Keppel, who is also the scientific and technical director of the Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute, was honored for "personal leadership and efforts in the community [that] have resulted in outstanding benefits to the region."

The award was presented to Keppel at HRTC's Tech Nite, billed as the organization's premiere event of the year. Tech Nite is an annual recognition event for high-tech companies, individuals, entrepreneurs and innovations to recognize the pioneering efforts of those that use math and science in new and innovative ways in the Hampton Roads region.
