JAG seeks design entries for Run-A-Round T-shirt

The race to create the winning design for Jefferson Lab's annual T-shirt contest kicked off January 18. All T-shirt design entries are to be printed in color on 8 1/2" x 11" paper. Each submission must include a front (pocket) and back design. "Jefferson Lab", "DOE", "SURA" and "2000" must be incorporated into each design.

All entries must include the entrant's name(s), division and telephone number. The winning design will be unveiled at the Lab's annual Run-A-Round (Thursday, May 4). The winning designer(s) will receive a free T-shirt and recognition.

The winning design becomes the property of SURA/JLab. The final version of the design may be subject to slight change to suit screen-printing limitations. Re-submission of previous non-winning designs is welcome, according to the JLab Activities Group.

Submit all entries to: Susan Esp, Trailer City, Bldg. 16, Rm. 17, Mail Stop 16B, ext. 7520; or Becky Nevarez, Bldg. 52B, Rm. 4, MS52A, ext. 7236.

The deadline for submissions is February 29. Previewing the designs and voting will take place through the JAG Web Page ( http://www.jlab.org/jag) and will run from March 3 - 17. Anyone without computer access may see or call Esp or Nevarez for assistance with voting.

All entries will be posted on the JAG Web Page. Lab staff and users will vote for the best design (one vote per person).

    Bright Spot on the Web

Editor's note: If you have or know of a Web Site that could be informative or useful to Jefferson Lab staff, call the public affairs office at ext. 7689 or e-mail Linda Ware (ware@jlab.org).

This year "bright spot on the web" will feature Web pages representing the ethnic heritage and cultural diversity found within the U. S. Our first stop is http://www.nationalparks.org/home.asp to visit the National Park Foundation. Select "Locate Parks by Special Interest" from the menu to check out the many African American History sites maintained by NPF. The page also lists Women's History, Hispanic Heritage, and World Heritage (Native American) sites. Also included are Civil War, American Revolutionary War, Presidential History, and archeological sites. A click on African American History reveals numerous parks and historical sites including the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site in Atlanta, Ga. The site preserves the birthplace, boyhood surroundings, and grave of the nation's foremost civil rights leader.
