JLab Hall D Leader Position Filled - A Message from Christoph Leemann
Jefferson Lab is pleased to announce the successful conclusion to our year-long international search for a Hall D Group Leader. Dr. Elke Aschenauer has accepted the position and will be joining the Laboratory in early December. Dr. Aschenauer has been spokesperson for the HERMES experiment at the DESY Laboratory in Hamburg, Germany, for the past three years. With eight years of experience on this major experiment, as well as work at HERA-B and PSI, she brings with her a wide range of expertise in scientific management, major scientific instrumentation installation, hardware development, data analysis, and simulation work.
Dr. Aschenauer will join the Laboratory at a particularly strategic time, the start of the formal Project Engineering and Design phase of the 12 GeV Upgrade, which is marked by vigorous preparations leading up to Critical Decision 2 approval in Summer 2007.
