Day Shift, Wednesday, August 21, 2002 COSMIC RAY TEST DAY II ====================== 09:00 Lawrence and Ito in the counting room. --> Need to verify the sparsification status of the ADC's. DAQ ran overnight, 594 k events in 1.6 GB. This morning the rate was at 10 Hz, not much different from the 11 Hz we saw last night. Veto Counters: the responsible person for this system is Eric Clinton. --> Need to install the veto counters. 10:00 David Lawrence's of things he wants "us" to do today. 1. Sparsification/pedestal status: done, see below 2. Clock trigger: done, see log entry for Thu. 8/22 3. LMS trigger (timing and bit #) 4. PS ADC gate timing using CLAS DAQ 5. Scaler and trigger latch info read from data stream: done, see below 6. TAC and HyCal ADC spectra from last night's cosmics 11:00 Item 5 above was accomplished. The modification was done in codaIO, our offline event parsing program. 14:30 Ended cosmic run 684 with 790k events. (Yar is working on the LMS) We will run with sparsification on using new generic scheme developed by Sergei B. We will need pedestal runs for this to work. Pedestal runs go like this: 1. set trigger 2. use configuration PEDESTAL 3. run one thousand events 4. set the link to the new file. We have not yet taken one of these babies. David is the PrimEx expert on this. --> Need a written procedure for pedestal runs. 16:00 Eugene moved the cable for T counters 33-48 to a different connector on the TDC in slot 15 of tage crate. We will see if this fixes the problem with T counter 48. --> Need to look at T counter 48 in the TDC's. 17:00 Left data acquistion to run overnight again. Same triggers as the night before. Pre-scale for tagger had to be raised. 19:15 Eric and Mark worked on the target ladder. It is in the Hall, but not installed on the beamline. Control software has been incorporated into our IOC, primexioc1, and works. We tested both horizonal and vertical motion as well as all of the limit switches. The 10e-4 target got damaged in the move from the EEL. Eric will replace it early tomorrow morning.
