Owl Shift, Sunday, August 25, 2002
leader Aram
       Sam
       Marianna/Eric

12:00 am:
  harp scan
electron beam is broad in y direction
no peak in photon beam profile
called MCC to tune up the beam.

1:54 am:
a pedistal run is done (run #738)

2:20 am:
still tring to get good beam

3:20 am:
gave up on tring to get good beam,
will now try to plateau PS

3:45 am:
  finished plateauing PS
  started plateauing E-counters

5:00 am:
  stoped plateauing E-counters,
  plateauing software is not good
Attempt dipole scan. Unable to get good coincidences with large
  background rates on PS counters.

6:25 am:
  still no good enough beam
(the beam is too wide in y direction)

7:00
D.Lawrence - Went over to MCC to speak with operators about
options for getting beam tuned. They said they would normally
take beam away from the other halls to tune us in, but they
were instructed not to do so at this time. They suggested we talk
to the Hall-C people and the P.D.

For now, we attempt to the gate timing.

7:07
E-counters were left at -2000V from attempt at plateauing them.
Set all E-counters to -1850V. I don't know the procedure for
setting them back to their nominal values.

7:14
MCC calls, they lost an RF separator and are calling in support.

8:00
E-counter scalers are not counting, Aram and Dave went down to the hall
to check those, powercycled VME crate PS scalers came back but still
no response from E-counter scalers. Hall left in controled access.
