Run Plan for August 2002 HyCal Prototype Test Run
- Tune photon beam
- Look at tagger dump viewer
- Look for a peak on the gamma profiler
- Check the nanoamp BPM's for beam position
- Do a tagger harp scan
- Do a photon harp scan
- Plateau pair spectrometer
- Get beam energy
- Set dipole current
- Run program
- Eyeball curves
- Set voltages
- Plateau tagger
- Dipole scan
- Check and adjust gate timing with respect to MOR
- Check TAC health
- Luminosity scan: same plan as for
last June.
- HyCal gain matching (setting the high voltage)
- Have MCC turn off the beam
- Use the 2x10**-4 radiator
- Retract the photon harp (no converter)
- Use the blank primex target
- Set up the MOR_20 trigger
- Ask MCC for beam current as low as possible (50 pA or lower)
- When beam is stable follow the following procedure for each
crystal/block
- Center the beam on a crystal/block
- Take ? events
- Look at the ADC spectrum for the crystal/block
- Adjust the HV to bring the peak to ? counts
- For the crystals, the slope is ? counts/V
- For the block, the slope is ? counts/V
- Repeat until the peak is within ? counts of ? counts
The order of crystals/blocks to be selected is listed at ?.
- HyCal Calibration (obtaining offline gain constants)
- Set up the beamline as was done for gain matching
- Start taking data
- Scan the beam over the entire HyCal detector. The scan route is
described at ?
- Rate studies
- Trigger rate
- Set up HyCal trigger
- Scan beam intensity, taking data at each setting
- note trigger rate
- note dead-time level
- Accidental rates
- Set up clock trigger
- Scan beam intensity, taking data at each setting
- Transition point study
- Set up beam as for gain matching
- Put beam at points near transition between crystals and blocks. The
list of positions is given at ?
- Light monitoring system: see Sam's LMS run plan
