Weekly Meeting Minutes, March 7, 2003

Attending: Raphael, Mark Ito, Yar, Itaru, George, Vladimir, Dan Dale (phone), Dave Kashy, Anatolly

Vladimir’s report: 72 crystal assemblies are complete, but a number of parts are needed for completion - Dan Dale will be sending the new parts, with Raphael sending an email to confirm what’s needed.
Supplies (tape & soldering paste) also needed - Yar assigned job as general gofer to take care of minor supply needs.

George’s report: More large flanges are needed for the lead glass assemblies - Rory at U.Mass. to be contacted about them.
Circuit board design waiting for Mark McMullen to do the layout.

Dave Kashy’s report: Target ladder has been disassembled, reworked and reassembled - it’s ready for testing. Mark Ito volunteers.
Steve Kristos has assembled a prototype helium bag.
Vertical support stucture in the hall has been tack-wealded (accuracy +- 0.5 mm) and is ready for survey.
Hall scheduled to be open ‘till April 10.
*There is a request to remove the green non-fire-resistant cable from the hall - Dave & Ashot need to report on that for next week’s meeting.
Engineering design drawings ready for George’s review.
Specs document for load test of the HyCal frame is in progress.
Horizontal motion drive design is in progress.
Plant services contacted about phone & internet connections installed into the test lab area, but it’s not done yet.

Yar’s report: The proposed web page layout loaded onto primex site at http://www.jlab.org/primex/_html/. Feedback and suggestions are welcome. The seond-level links are unconnected in order to preserve disk space.
Optic fiber bundle completed and delivered to Jlab. Bracket design is in progress.

Mark’s report: Sources for testing the tagger have been ordered and should arrive early next week. We have 2 sources, so testing should begins immediately. Itaru will speak with Eugene, who is in charge of the project.

Question from Dan Dale: Anyone know the cosmic rate (with beam off) on the T-Counters? Mark suggests it’s in the Hz range, and a definitive answer would be welcome.

Dan Dale suggests the next collaboration meeting for April 18.

To Dan's question: Total T-conter rate (entire focal plane) from cosmics is about 250 Hz.
