Present: Eric Clinton, Dan Dale (by phone), Mark Ito, Dustin McNulty, Aram Teymurazyan, Mike Wood
Dustin summarized the discussion at yesterday's technical meeting.
Eric showed results of a study of the total HyCal sum timing. He showed a time spectrum relative to tagger hits. The resolution was about 3 or 4 ns, rms. He also presented multiplicity distributions for the tagger hits in various time windows centered around HyCal sum time (window sizes are full widths). The results showed promise for an analysis that depends only on the HyCal sum for HyCal timing information. We proposed the idea of a calibrated HyCal time, perhaps in a new bank.
Dustin showed us his latest plots of π0 dn/dθ for carbon and lead targets, crystal only and crystal+glass. His code has been organized so that he can do the analysis under a variety of assumptions.
primsim
simulation. His recent efforts have been focused on the beamline. Dan
pointed out areas where he has noted deficiencies, among them the
target, the helium bag and the magnetic field of the dipole. If folks
have suggestions or ideas in this area, please contact Mike.
Mike Wood will be organizing next week's weekly meeting.
