Summary of Meeting Discussions:
All. Nominate secretary: Dustin McNulty (next secretary: ?)
All. Approval of last meeting's minutes:
Approved. You can find the previous meeting minutes here. Highlights: Dan proposed abstract for APS meeting. Dan also proposed the formation of a committee for the purpose of ~formally reviewing PrimEx Notes.
All. New Business: Itemized below
1: Mike's update on status of data quality monitoring:
He uses CVS program 'offline_mon' to produce the monitoring histograms modularized by detector system (HyCal, Tagger, PS, etc.)
Using the farm to run the 1000's of jobs required; has already completed ~2000 jobs.
Mike will look into using a dedicated primex account for farm job submissions to expedite his task.
2: Pawel's DataBase GUI for Web Browsers:
Very impressive tool for producing sophisticated plots from any database (uses JAIDA from FreeHEP); it is almost ready for demonstration.
Here is a quick list of features: Adaptable, configurable, dynamic plotting (no temporary files), and deployable.
3: Kelli's talk about Compton analysis -- deferred until next meeting.
4: Eric's presentation of pi0 yield versus Tcounter:
Eric's motivation for this study was to answer the question: Do we need to normalize our yield to flux on a Tcounter by Tcounter basis, or can we apply one normalization factor for all Tcounters?
Eric's answer: Results are encouraging that we can use one global normalization, however, they are very preliminary and further investigation is needed.
5: Aram discusses standardized 'root' figure style for PrimEx:
Aram proposes to create a rootlogin file which contains code that standardizes the look (style) of plots created using root.
Aram will coordinate the development of this project and provide future instruction regarding its implementation.
6: Ashot mentions that we need to return 3 - 5 (?) of our fastbus ADCs to Charles Perdrisat. Also, LaRay has moved many precious PrimEx commissioning and run logbooks to new F wing room 310.
