The NC A&T SU's Nuclear Physics group is
an active member of the PrimEx collaboration at Jefferson Lab
(JLab). Our group had a leading role in the development,
construction and commissioning of the hybrid electromagnetic
calorimeter (HyCal) including the multi-channel gain monitoring system
(LMS). We were also responsible for the development of the EPICS
on-line software package to control the HyCal transporter precision
motion. Together with our students we were actively involved in
the off-line data analysis software package for the experiment.
Currently, our group is playing one of the leading roles in the data
analysis process working in both extraction of the Compton forward
cross section and extraction of the neutral pion lifetime from the
experimental cross sections.

Graduate students:
Total of 4 graduate students defended
their MS. Degree
theses work in the group for the last 3 years.
Undergraduate Students:
Over 10 undergraduate students had been
trained in this
project for the past 5 years. They worked with the group during the
academic
year. Practically all of our students spent two months during the
summer time
at Jefferson Lab actively working on project development.
