Weekly Minutes 2007-07-06
From PrimExWiki
Meeting commence time: 3:05 PM
In attendance: Mark, Matthew, Eugene, Dustin W., Dustin M., Yelena, Ashot, Reggie, Eric, Ilya, Aram
By phone: Tulio, Dan
Happenings:
- This week's agenda was approved.
- Last week's minutes were reviewed and approved by all.
- Mark sent Tulio's talks to the group. Analysis notes are pending.
- Ashot mentioned technical papers for luminosity, Compton scattering, and target thickness.
- Next Friday's secretary: Eugene
- The collaboration meeting on July 19-20 was briefly discussed. It will still be held then.
- Eric posted his analysis note.
- Yelena will be a faculty member at CNU starting in August.
- Ilya showed some graphs of π0 yield per E-channel and per flux. It was revealed that while we do not have staistics for tagging ratio per E-channel, this could be extracted from snake scans. The tagger/TAC ratio for tagging ratio per E-channel was discussed. Eugene said that if the tagging ratio is calculated using only some E-channels, then the error will be larger.
- Dustin M. has reevaluated attenuation losses in the lead target. It is close to the carbon value. Difference from NIST values may come from the fact that the targets are isotopic rather than natural. Ashot mentioned the old problem of Rory's numbers: absolute number and effective number of carbons.
- Ashot mentioned two things: π0 cross-section calculations are needed from all 3 groups, and then they must be averaged somehow.
- Compton flux, which Aram said he would have done soon.
Next meeting's agenda:
- Compton flux: Aram
