Compton Analysis

Pawel presented the latest results from his Comptons analysis. See his slides for details. Overall, the analysis looks to be in very good shape.

One concern was the elastic (E_tag − E_HyCal) background showing up at low energy as calculated by Compton kinematics (E_tag − E_calc). The presence of this background motivates a tight cut on E_tag − E_calc and might contribute a lot to the systematic error as a result. Pawel speculated that the background might be coming from radiative events or from pair production contamination. He will be studying this background next. Aron advocated relying on Monte Carlo to do this particular set of studies.

Meeting Time

We discussed moving the time of the weekly meeting on Fridays from 3:30 pm to 10:00 am. Mark will solicit opinions via email.

Secretary

Ilya agreed to act as secretary at next week's meeting.
