This directory contains pion spectra generated by the electron beam as calculated by geant321. It uses a code supplied to me by Pavel Degtarenko. The pion spectra are particularly useful if one needs to calculate muon background from line of sight pion decays. The file 'target-info.txt' contains information on how the different pion spectra were generated depending on beam energy, number of electrons, target type, and the DRAM parameter from geant. The DRAM parameter is a multiplicative factor which increases the cross section for production of hadrons. This is useful when generating the secondary spectra of pions created by the electron beam because it cuts back the running time for geant. If you use the pion spectra, divide your results by DRAM to obtain the correct number of pion induced events. Konrad A. Aniol
