W&M analysis/sim update

W&M analysis/sim update

Recently Accomplished:

  • A nice vacation for one of us!
  • Magboltz simulation to determine Lorentz angle corrections for E&M fields during long CODA run finished and currently in use
  • Josh Evans has finished a perl script to streamline the Magboltz simulation process. We will soon have a large bank of Lorentz
angle data for various gases and E&M field configurations.
  • Specific events on the deuterium target taken with CODA have been identified in BoNuS so that we can run the CLAS analyzer and
focus on using these events to show BoNuS saw backward low-momentum protons in coincidence with CLAS electron. Very soft cuts
are currently being made to identify these tracks - good start time and long duration.
  • Currently Working On:

  • Momentum, vertex and timing analysis on the aforementioned heavily ionizing CODA events
  • Identifying better cuts to identify proton tracks - dE/dx
  • A new routine to make it easy for anyone to input run conditions (E&M fields) and get realistic Lorentz angle data for entire
    detector volume
  • Very-Near Future Goals:

  • A sophisticated noise filter for the real analysis package (Kalman Filtering?)
  • HIGH PRIORITY! -- Get together with Gabriel (or Jixie?) to update GEM part of CLAS analyzer with messy existing code that
we can use to get some good looking coincidence events for the powers-that-be
  • Break monster "monitor" code into separate files/classes and upgrade to C++/ROOT for the production BoNuS analysis package
  • Begin using analyzer on Jixie's simulated data
