COSM-Zambia
Resource Page

The following resources are available to help you learn more about our program, our sponsors, and physics/maths education...

Hampton University

Hampton University, a historically black university located in Hampton, Virginia, is the home base of the COSM-Zambia program.
COSM at Hampton University

COSM -- the Center for the study of the Origin and Structure of Matter -- is dedicated to research and education in nuclear and particle physics.
The National Science Foundation

NSF is the main government source of broad-spectrum science research and education funding in the United States.
Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in Zambia

The Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary are active in education in Zambia and have sponsored our volunteer visits to work with Zambian teachers.
Marymount International School, Rome

Marymount International School is one of the many educational projects of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary. They have been involved in assistance to Zambia for many years. One of our key team members came to us from Marymount International School.
The Particle Adventure

The Particle Adventure is perhaps the best -- and the best known -- website tutorial on particle physics.
The Physics Classroom

The Physics Classroom is an excellent all-around physics tutorial.
QuarkNet QuarkNet is a top-flight DOE/NSF-funded program to improve physics education in the United States. Much of the outreach and education work of COSM is inspired by the QuarkNet example.
QuarkNet Toolkit This site was designed for teachers leading a workshop in the QuarkNet program. Much of it can and has been used in the classroom as well.

This work is supported, in part, by the National Science Foundation and Hampton University.
