IP-Octal (RS-232) Connections for the GeN Polarized Target

 

There is one GreenSpring IP-Octal used to communicate with seven control instruments using RS-232 protocol. The IP-Octal is mounted in slot A of the VME carrier board. The 7 instruments connect to the IP-Octal via a GreenSpring XM-Octal breakout board mounted at the back of the electronics rack. The connections are made in the following order:

ch 0 (1A): AMI level meter

ch 1 (1B): Oxford ILM level meter

ch 2 (1C): Oxford ITC502

ch 3 (1D): Oxford ITC501

ch 4 (1E): Keithley model 2000 multimeter

ch 5 (1F): ED2 #1 (separator + magnet fill)

ch 6 (1G): ED2 #2 (run + bypass)
