Upgrades to the IR Demo FEL

Thanks to Kevin Jordan and Michelle Shinn for the IR Demo test pictures!
Ongoing success with the IR Demo FEL has convinced taxpayers to consider funding an "upgrade" (more accurately, a rebuild) of the device to increase both output power and bandwidth. Preliminary work on this topic provides some indication as to how this may proceed. As this site evolves, it will provide more detailed documentation on the design, construction and performance of the upgraded machine.
