The materials that are used in the energy loss corrections that we apply to the data are: (note that "mil" refers to 0.001 inches, not 1 millimeter) Corrections to incident beam energy: 1)Scattering chamber entrance window: 15 mil Aluminum foil 2)Target cell entrance window: 8mil Beryllium foil 3)Water foils: The foil thickness used were: foil 1: 0.281 cm foil 2: 0.290 cm foil 3: 0.234 cm The correction is always applied making the assumption that the electron scattered at the center of the foil. The foil thickness numbers were taken from page 10 of: http://www.jlab.org/~fissum/e00102/analysis/e00102_status.pdf This is the thickness along the direction of the beamline, not the minimum thickness of the foil. Corrections to scattered particle energy: 1)Water foils: see above. As with the incident beam correction, the scattering is assumed to always take place at the center of the foil. 2)Target cell side walls: 3 mil stainless steel Kevin has posted drawings of the target box and scattering chamber on the E00102 website: http://www.jlab.org/~fissum/e00102/target/target_cell.pdf http://www.jlab.org/~fissum/e00102/target/scattering_chamber.pdf
