Minutes of the E00102 meeting Thursday, September 06, 2001 BR present: WH Wendy Hinton JLR John Lerose DM Dave Meekins BR Bodo Reitz AS Arun Saha LW Larry Weinstein 1.) LW summarized, what happenend during his absence. Mentionned the Waterfalltarget side windows, which are now thinner ( 1 mil ), than previously thought. JLR and LW discussed the effects of the 15 mil Al window between scattering chamber and HRS. 2.) DM reported about problems with the Waterfalltarget: - during pressure tests of the windows mounted at the vessel itself, they failed at 10 psig. - problems are the flanges, they are different to the ones used for the successfull pressure tests before, especially he mentionned some knife edges producing the problem - flanges need to be redesigned, therefore he needs to know the minimum exit angles => left arm: 12.5 deg - HRS acceptance = 10.8 deg (actual design allows 9.3 deg) => right arm: 20 deg (BR mentionned, that for RICH commissioning, it would be nice, to go to smaller angles on this side as well, but RICH will be flexible, if it is impossible) - A new survey of the Waterfalltarget might be necessary. schedule is becoming very tight - option of moving or rotating the can was discussed 3.) LW asked for final equipment of detector package, BR reported: - A2 has been added for RICH commissioning, will not affect oxygen - parts for S0 on the left arm have not been delivered in time. it is yet not clear, if S0 will be ready in-time - if not, PR or one of the aerogels will be used as third trigger instead LW repeated, that there are no plans to change PMTs anymore 4.) On the Hall A webpage, a link to the oxygen E00102 webpage should be added 5.) Safety Documents have to be written now. AS mentionned, that he will be absent shortly before the experiment starts, will hand paperwork over to BR in that period 6.) BR asked, who will update, write and test manuals, kumacs.. etc. for online-analysis and checks. LW and DM suggested, that this would be a good starting point for the experiments student, so WH and MA should do this. 7.) DM asked, who in the collaboration already is familiar with espace and/or another analyser. From the people present, only BR admitted to have some experience. 8.) BR suggested, to assign "specialists" for every device used during the experiment, additionally to the responsible Hall A staff. 9.) Runplan issues: beam energy should be fixed during the whole experiment, including the target commissioning details about the physics runplan have to be adjusted during the experiment, after the analysis of the first, short kinematics.
