The E00-102 O(e,e'p) meeting Thursday afternoon minutes: Weinstein Present: Doug Higinbotham, Simon Sirca, Larry Weinstein, Arun Saha, Wendy Hinton, John Arrington 1) discussion of target failure this morning at 05:30. Symptoms: increasing radiation level in the dump ion counters tripped the beam at 05:30. This level had increased exponentially over about 3 hours. After this, we could not put 5 uA on the water fall target. Day shift put in the BeO. That worked. Then we put in the waterfall at 1 uA (pulsed) and saw a bizarre y-target spectrum (see halog). Meekins and Foltz rebooted the target motion controller, moved the waterfall target to home (to reset the motor encoder) and then back to waterfall, and turned the pump back on. Everything then seemed nominal. It was probably due to the target filling with water and possibly also being out of position. 2) We have had 77 hours of effective 100uA beam in the last 7 days (168 hours). 3) Saha claims that the VDC current was fine on the Monday day shift before we noticed that it was too high in the swing shift. Someone should check the epics records. 250 kHz rate should not be too much for the VDC! This still needs to be checked into. 4) We should strip chart T1/charge and T3/charge 5) We should never need an aerogel cerenkov in the R arm since the expected pi+/p ratio is about 0.1 for all angles. 6) Bodo wants to try parasitic RICH tests. It will add 100 words to the T3 event, thus increasing our deadtime somewhat. We'll see what the effect is from the first run. 7) We looked at the global run plan. We have 20 days left before Turkey Day and about 10 after. We have about 16 100uA beam days of data taking in our minimum program and about 1/2 - 1 day of calibrations left. This should let us finish the 'must' list and start on the 'should' list. This includes a) cross section measurements at higher missing momentum, and b) A_LT at higher missing energy.
