Electron Tracking Efficiency
Last week, while trying to track down the weirdness in the 50 degree data, Dave noticed
that the tracking efficiency between He3 and LD2
at 0.86GeV/c differs by 1%, where in Tanja's data it's
more like 0.1%. This could be the result of a low Cherenkov cut,
so I investigated with a few different cuts
and a few different targets at 0.86GeV/c (lowest setting at 50 degrees) and 1.14GeV/c (lowest setting at 40 degrees).
Cuts:
Original: hcer_npe>0.5 and hsshtrk>0.8
Cut #1 : hcer_npe>2 and hssthrk > 0.7
Cut #2 : hcer_npe>4 and hssthrk > 0.9
There was another cut with 2 photoelectrons and 0.8 for shower track, but those results were pretty much
identical to Cut#1.
Positron runs
Additionally, Dave suggested we look at the tracking efficiency of production ruts vs rate in S1X
for all runs. Those plots can be found
here .
